  • Invite a speaker to  talk to the class - Self Help Africa, a local Councillor, a Planning Officer, Niall Mellon Township.
  • Hold a 'Know your County Council' week.
  • Conduct a survey of the local amenities and decide what the area needs.
  • Hold a mock summit on global development.
  • Organise a Development Education week.
  • Organise a 'Connect with Your Community' Week and get people to volunteer locally.
  • Complete a research project on the Millennium Development Goals.
  • Find and propose an area around the school to 'develop'.
